Home EV charger installation allows you to charge overnight, avoid public charging queues, and take advantage of cheaper off-peak electricity tariffs. Most homes are suitable for an EV charger, and we carry out a full assessment before installation to ensure everything is safe and compliant.

Every installation is slightly different, but most home EV charger installations are completed in under 3 hours. Straightforward installations with easy access to the consumer unit can often be completed even faster. More complex setups may take a little longer, but in most cases you'll be charging your car the very same day.

In the vast majority of cases, a full rewire is not required. Most modern homes can support an EV charger without major upgrades. Occasionally, older properties may need minor additional electrical work to meet current safety standards, but this is usually minimal and identified during our initial checks.

Every new home charger is a 'smart' charger (required by law since June 2022), and we'll always recommend the best option for your car, home and budget rather than the priciest one. Being NAPIT-certified means we're registered electricians on a Government-approved competent person scheme — every install meets the current wiring regulations (BS 7671, Section 722), is fully tested, and we self-certify and notify Building Control for you. Being OZEV-authorised means we're approved to claim the EV chargepoint grant on behalf of eligible customers.
