Why Andersen?

Why we recommend Andersen chargers

Andersen is the option we recommend when the charger is going to be a visible part of the house and design matters as much as charging performance. The A3 and A2 combine premium finishes with Andersen’s hidden-cable design and modern smart-energy features.

For most single-phase homes the A3 is the natural fit. The larger A2 is worth considering where three-phase charging or a longer hidden cable is required.

Designed to complement the property

A wide choice of metal, wood and colour finishes means the charger can be matched to brickwork, render, doors or the wider exterior rather than looking like a generic plastic box.

A genuinely useful hidden-cable system

On the A3 and A2 the tethered charging lead stores inside the unit, giving you the convenience of an attached cable without leaving loops of cable hanging on the wall.

Smart control, tariffs and solar

The Andersen app handles schedules, remote locking and charging history, while compatible models support solar charging and integration with modern EV tariffs.

Premium build with a long warranty

Andersen backs its current home charge points with a 7-year warranty, which fits the brand’s focus on materials, finish quality and long-term ownership.

Want the charger to look like part of the house rather than an add-on? We can help you choose the Andersen model, cable length and finish that makes sense for your property.

Choose your Andersen charger

Andersen is the design-led option in our range. The A3 suits most standard 7kW home installations, while the larger A2 gives you the option of longer cable lengths and three-phase 22kW charging where the property supports it.

7kW / 22kW Premium

Andersen A2 / A3

Best for: homeowners who care about how the charger looks and want the charging cable hidden away rather than permanently visible on the wall.

A3 for most single-phase homes

The Andersen A3 is the more compact option for a typical 7kW domestic installation, with a 5.5m hidden tethered cable and Andersen's premium finish choices.

A2 for longer cable or three-phase needs

The larger A2 is available for 7kW or 22kW installations and can accommodate a longer cable, making it better suited to three-phase supplies or more demanding parking layouts.

Hidden cable & extensive finish choices

Both models are designed to conceal the tethered charging cable when it is not in use, with a wide choice of colours and premium fascia finishes to suit the property.

Solar, app control & long warranty

Andersen's home chargers support app control and solar integration, while current A2 and A3 units are backed by Andersen's seven-year manufacturer warranty subject to its terms.

Andersen FAQs

Your Andersen A2 & A3 questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Andersen's premium home chargers and your installation, from choosing A2 or A3 to finishes, solar charging and warranty.

What's the difference between the Andersen A2 and A3?

Both are premium, design-led chargers with Andersen's signature hidden tethered cable. For most standard single-phase homes, the compact A3 is the natural choice and provides 7kW home charging.

The A2 is the larger and more configurable option. It can suit longer cable requirements and is available for both 7kW single-phase and 22kW three-phase installations where the property supports it.

We'll recommend the model based on your electrical supply and parking layout — not simply whichever costs more.

How long does an Andersen installation take?

A standard Andersen installation typically takes around 3 hours. Most jobs are completed in a single visit by one of our own engineers, including mounting the charger, running the cable, fitting the required electrical protection, commissioning the charger and testing everything before we hand over.

More involved installations — such as longer cable runs, consumer-unit work or difficult access — can take longer. We'll identify anything outside a standard installation when we quote, rather than surprising you with extra work on the day.

Do you install Andersen chargers in my area?

We install Andersen chargers across North West England and North Wales. If you're near the edge of our usual coverage area, send us your postcode and we'll confirm whether we can reach you before you go any further. There's no charge to ask.

Does Andersen support smart tariffs and solar charging?

Yes. Andersen chargers combine app-based smart control with scheduling and smart-tariff functionality, so charging can be planned around cheaper electricity periods where your tariff supports it.

Andersen also offers solar compatibility, allowing a suitable installation to make better use of generation from your home's solar PV system.

Solar functionality and the required energy-monitoring hardware depend on the exact A2/A3 configuration and your existing home setup.

What warranty do I get with an Andersen charger?

Andersen currently provides a 7-year manufacturer warranty on its home charge points, subject to Andersen's activation and warranty terms.

That's alongside our own 3-year workmanship warranty covering your installation. As an OZEV-authorised, NAPIT-certified installer with our own in-house team, the people carrying out your installation are the people who stand behind the work afterwards.

How much does an Andersen charger installation cost?

Our Andersen installations start from £999. The exact price varies more than with some chargers because the model, cable length and finish can all be configured.

Your quote is free and fixed before booking, so you'll know what the chosen charger and installation cost before any work starts.

EV chargepoint grants: there isn't a general home-charger grant for an owner-occupier of a standard house with private off-street parking. Support remains available for qualifying renters and flat owners, residential landlords and qualifying households using an approved cross-pavement solution for on-street parking. Current eligible home schemes can cover 75% of the cost up to £500 and are funded until 31 March 2027. We'll tell you if your installation may qualify.
