Why Sync Energy?
Sync Energy is a practical all-rounder: compact, well specified and available in enough configurations to suit most homes. The current Wall Charger 2 combines smart tariff tools, solar charging and flexible connectivity without becoming overcomplicated.
Sync Energy was previously branded BG SyncEV, so you may still see the older SyncEV name on some existing installations or stock — it is the same product family.
Sync Energy’s Tariff Sense feature can use UK tariff information to show charging costs and help schedule charging into cheaper periods.
If you have solar panels, Auto Solar Charging can make use of surplus generation to put more of your own electricity into the car instead of exporting it.
Wall Charger 2 is available tethered or socketed, with combinations of Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 4G and RFID depending on the model you choose.
Integrated PEN protection, Type A residual-current protection with 6mA DC detection and dynamic load management make it a very complete domestic package.

The latest Sync home charger keeps the compact, practical character the brand is known for, but adds stronger home-energy features including tariff-aware charging, automatic solar charging and a choice of connectivity options.
Best for: drivers who want a compact, flexible charger with strong electrical protection and useful solar and tariff features without moving into premium-charger pricing.
Wall Charger 2 is available in Type 2 socketed and tethered configurations, so you can choose a clean cable-free wall unit or the convenience of a permanently attached lead.
Sync Energy's Tariff Sense feature can work with UK electricity tariffs to show charging costs and help schedule charging into lower-cost periods.
Auto Solar Charging can use surplus solar generation for the car, helping households with PV make better use of electricity they generate themselves.
Dynamic load management is supported alongside built-in open-PEN protection and Type A / DC residual-current protection, reducing the amount of additional EV-specific hardware needed around the charger.

Everything you need to know about the Sync Energy Wall Charger 2 and your installation, including tethered vs socketed options, solar charging, connectivity and warranty.
The current Sync Energy Wall Charger 2 is available in both tethered and socketed configurations. Tethered gives you a permanently attached Type 2 cable for grab-and-go convenience; socketed keeps the wall unit tidier and lets you use a removable cable.
Both approaches can work well — the better choice mostly comes down to how you park and whether you want to store the cable separately.
We'll recommend the practical option for your driveway and vehicle when we quote.
A standard Sync Energy installation typically takes around 3 hours. Most jobs are completed in a single visit by one of our own engineers, including mounting the charger, running the cable, fitting the required electrical protection, commissioning the charger and testing everything before we hand over.
More involved installations — such as longer cable runs, consumer-unit work or difficult access — can take longer. We'll identify anything outside a standard installation when we quote, rather than surprising you with extra work on the day.
We install Sync Energy chargers across North West England and North Wales. If you're near the edge of our usual coverage area, send us your postcode and we'll confirm whether we can reach you before you go any further. There's no charge to ask.
Yes. Wall Charger 2 includes smart-energy features such as Tariff Sense and Auto Solar Charging, designed to help shift EV charging around electricity prices and available home generation.
It also supports dynamic load management, helping the charger work within the available electrical capacity of the property.
Available smart functions can depend on the Wall Charger 2 configuration, your tariff and your home-energy setup, which we'll confirm before installation.
Sync Energy currently provides a 3-year manufacturer warranty as standard on its home charging products.
That's alongside our own 3-year workmanship warranty covering your installation. As an OZEV-authorised, NAPIT-certified installer with our own in-house team, the people carrying out your installation are the people who stand behind the work afterwards.
Our Sync EV / Sync Energy installations start from £699.
Quotes are free and fixed before booking. Your exact cost depends on the selected charger configuration, cable route and any additional electrical work your property requires.
EV chargepoint grants: there isn't a general home-charger grant for an owner-occupier of a standard house with private off-street parking. Support remains available for qualifying renters and flat owners, residential landlords and qualifying households using an approved cross-pavement solution for on-street parking. Current eligible home schemes can cover 75% of the cost up to £500 and are funded until 31 March 2027. We'll tell you if your installation may qualify.
Free, no-obligation pricing from a local in-house team - no subcontractors, no pressure. Most installs are booked in the same week across the North West and North Wales.
