Why evec?
evec is a strong choice when you want the important smart-charging features without pushing into premium-charger pricing. The VEC01 is compact, straightforward and gives you app control, load balancing and built-in protection in a neat untethered unit.
The VEC01 uses a Type 2 socket rather than a permanently attached lead, making it a tidy option if you prefer to store your charging cable in the car or garage.
You still get smart scheduling, app control and OCPP connectivity without paying primarily for premium materials or elaborate styling.
The small wall-mounted design keeps the installation discreet, while the built-in LED indicator gives you a quick view of charging status.
Integrated PEN protection, residual-current protection and support for load balancing help keep the installation simple while protecting your home electrical supply.
Use the evec app to start, stop, schedule and monitor charging from your phone — ideal if you mainly want reliable home charging with the useful smart features covered.

A compact, straightforward smart charger aimed at keeping the cost of a proper home EV installation sensible. The VEC01 is untethered, so you only have a cable on the wall when you are actually charging.
Best for: drivers who want a compact, cost-effective smart charger without paying extra for features or styling they do not need.
The untethered Type 2 socket works with the appropriate charging lead for your vehicle, giving you flexibility if you change cars or need to replace the cable later.
The VEC01 can be configured to suit the available electrical capacity at your property, with up to 7.4kW charging on a suitable single-phase supply.
Use the evec app to manage charging, while OCPP smart-charging support gives the unit the connected functionality expected from a modern home charger.
Integrated PEN protection, residual-current and over-current protection sit alongside load-balancing capability, all inside an IP55-rated enclosure.

The VEC01 keeps things simple: compact untethered charging, app control and the protection needed for a straightforward everyday home installation.
Specs shown for the evec VEC01 family from current manufacturer information; exact features can vary by VEC01 generation, so we'll confirm the supplied model at survey.
Everything you need to know about the evec VEC01 and your installation, including the socketed design, app control, solar compatibility and price.
The VEC01 configuration we quote is an untethered Type 2 charger. Instead of a fixed cable hanging permanently from the unit, you plug in your own charging lead when you need it and remove it afterwards.
That keeps the wall unit compact and also makes cable replacement straightforward if your needs change later.
If you specifically want a tethered evec model, tell us when you enquire and we can discuss the current options available.
A standard evec installation typically takes around 3 hours. Most jobs are completed in a single visit by one of our own engineers, including mounting the charger, running the cable, fitting the required electrical protection, commissioning the charger and testing everything before we hand over.
More involved installations — such as longer cable runs, consumer-unit work or difficult access — can take longer. We'll identify anything outside a standard installation when we quote, rather than surprising you with extra work on the day.
We install evec chargers across North West England and North Wales. If you're near the edge of our usual coverage area, send us your postcode and we'll confirm whether we can reach you before you go any further. There's no charge to ask.
Yes. The VEC01 supports OCPP smart charging, app control and load balancing, so it can be configured as a proper connected home charger rather than simply an on/off wall socket.
Current evec VEC01-family hardware also supports solar-integrated charging on compatible configurations, allowing surplus home generation to be used more intelligently.
We'll confirm the exact VEC01 generation and solar hardware being supplied as part of your quote, because evec has updated the range over time.
Current evec VEC01-family chargers are backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty, with manufacturer extension options available on some current models.
That's alongside our own 3-year workmanship warranty covering your installation. As an OZEV-authorised, NAPIT-certified installer with our own in-house team, the people carrying out your installation are the people who stand behind the work afterwards.
Our evec VEC01 installations start from £649, making it one of the most cost-effective smart chargers in our range.
Quotes are free and fixed before booking. The final figure depends on the cable route, electrical supply and any work needed beyond a standard installation.
EV chargepoint grants: there isn't a general home-charger grant for an owner-occupier of a standard house with private off-street parking. Support remains available for qualifying renters and flat owners, residential landlords and qualifying households using an approved cross-pavement solution for on-street parking. Current eligible home schemes can cover 75% of the cost up to £500 and are funded until 31 March 2027. We'll tell you if your installation may qualify.
Free, no-obligation pricing from a local in-house team - no subcontractors, no pressure. Most installs are booked in the same week across the North West and North Wales.
